  CYNERGY SURVEY   Mission: CYNERGY is Capital area young people (ages 20-40), connecting to foster career, social and community betterment. It is a division of the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce. Bangor Savings Bank is the major sponsor. Background: CYNERGY is affiliated with REALIZE!Maine to strengthen the network of young people living and working in Maine and to entice more young professionals to locate here. 200 Strong: More than 200 Capital area young people have joined CYNERGY and most attended the Augusta riverfront launch party in June. Are you willing and able to spend a half hour during your work day, once a month, to mentor high school students? If so, you’d be a perfect candidate for the Cony/Cynergy Collaborative! Cynergy is currently seeking volunteers to participate in this program, which recently completed its pilot semester. Structure: Cynergy is an opportunity for younger members of the Capital region workforce to use their talents, skills, enthusiasm and high energy to further their own growth and career interests while seeking ways to support community needs. It operates with a steering group and two key committees: Community Service: Erin Bechard, chair -- Cynergy isn’t all about going out and having fun (though we do that well), it’s about finding ways to actively participate in our community. The goals of the Community Service committee are to find outlets in our area to help affect positive social and community change. Social Networking & Professional Development: Amy Leeman and Sarah Dunckel, co-chairs -- This committee plans monthly socials and "socials with substance" and helps our members keep up to date on the latest in area job growth, interesting seminars and conferences.
